Good to know
- Who pays for the OSCE?
- The employer, in ethical recruitment (NHS trusts and the NORKA route pay the OSCE fee).
- Do I need a job offer before the visa?
- Yes: you need a Certificate of Sponsorship from a licensed employer.
- Can my family come with me?
- Nurses may bring dependants. Roles at RQF level 6 and above remain eligible; the restrictions (no dependants for new sponsorships at RQF levels 3 to 5, and care worker and senior care worker applications closed with a transition period to 22 July 2028) apply to care workers, not nurses.
- When must I sit the OSCE?
- Your first attempt must be within 12 weeks of the start date on your Certificate of Sponsorship.
