How much does the NCLEX-RN cost if you sit it outside the United States?
Registering for the NCLEX-RN costs US$200, plus US$150 to sit it at a centre outside the United States, US$350 in all; for registrations from 1 Feb 2027, the registration fee rises to US$350, US$500 with the fee to test abroad.

- When do I sit it, if I want a New York licence?
- NCLEX-RN at Pearson VUE, after applying to NYSED and paying the fee.
- What else does New York ask of a nurse?
- Good moral character, age 18, a nursing education programme acceptable to NYSED, the child abuse reporting and infection control coursework, the NCLEX-RN, an application to NYSED.
- Do I need VisaScreen as well?
- Yes, for the visa. Section 343 of IIRIRA requires registered nurses and certain other health professionals to complete the screening before a permanent or temporary occupational visa, including TN status.
