Good to know

Who can apply through the international route?
You need training undertaken and a qualification attained outside the UK, relevant to a regulated profession, and no previous HCPC registration; every application is assessed against the standards of proficiency for the profession.
What happens after I apply?
The HCPC's process: review of completeness and certification, plagiarism checks, assessment of the regulated education, training and experience, then a first decision; six months to supply missing documents; application volumes are very high.
Do I need IELTS if I trained in English?
No English evidence when the primary qualification is from a qualifying country (the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Malta, Kenya, the Caribbean Commonwealth and others on the list). India, the Philippines, Nigeria, Pakistan and South Africa are not on the list, so paramedics who trained there need the test.
