What OET or IELTS score do nurses need for NMBI registration?
NMBI asks for OET grade B in three of the four parts and C+ in the other, or IELTS 7.0 overall with 7.0 in three parts and 6.5 in the other, all from one sitting.

Good to know
- Can I combine results from different sittings?
- No. One sitting only; no combining of sittings, no One Skill Retake, no at-home tests.
- How old can my result be?
- A result is valid for 24 months.
- Do I need the test before I apply?
- No. Two stages, recognition of the qualification and then registration; English is required at the registration stage, so recognition can start before the test is passed. Recognition of your qualification costs €350.
- Can I skip the test?
- Yes, if you trained in English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United States or the United Kingdom.
