Good to know

Can I combine scores from two sittings?
No: the Council asks for every score in a single sitting.
Whose graduates need no test?
Graduates of Irish medical schools, graduates of EU/EEA medical schools regardless of citizenship, EU citizens, graduates of UK, Australian, New Zealand or US medical schools, and applicants for Specialist, Visiting EEA or Internship registration are exempt. Graduates of medical schools in India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Egypt and the Philippines are not.
Does a degree and internship done in English count?
Both the medical degree and the internship completed through English in a country on the Council's list of countries where English is the predominant language (modelled on the GMC's list) exempt the test; a recognised higher qualification awarded through English by a training body in such a country also exempts it. India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Egypt and the Philippines are not on that list.
How recent must my certificates be?
Certificates must be dated within two years of application and registration.
