Good to know

Who can sit NZREX Clinical?
An acceptable primary medical qualification; evidence of English valid within two years of the exam date; a pass within the last five years in PLAB Part 1, MCCQE Part I, the AMC MCQ, or USMLE Steps 1 and 2 CK; the degree and the prerequisite exam verified through ECFMG's EPIC (MyIntealth) before applying.
Does a pass register me?
No. The doctor must obtain a PGY1 job offer at an accredited training provider, then apply for the provisional general scope and complete the intern training programme and prevocational requirements.
Can I use PLAB or the AMC exams instead?
Yes: within the last five years the applicant has passed NZREX Clinical, or Parts 1 and 2 of the PLAB test, or the AMC MCQ and clinical examinations.
How is my degree verified?
The primary medical qualification (and for NZREX the prerequisite exam results) must be verified through ECFMG's EPIC service via MyIntealth before applying.
What does practising cost once I am registered?
The annual practising certificate is NZD 1,000.
