UAE paramedics: Dubai licenses paramedics through DCAS, not DHA

Dubai's paramedics are licensed by the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS), not the Dubai Health Authority. The plan now follows DCAS's own process and fees (AED 1,670 at DCAS, a DataFlow report, a theory exam at Prometric, a practical exam at DCAS and a job with a Dubai ambulance service) instead of DHA's.

United Arab Emirates (paramedics)

The UAE's unified qualification rules say that in Dubai, paramedics and other emergency medical services professionals are licensed by the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS), not the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). The paramedic plan had followed DHA's process, so it showed DHA's DataFlow fee (AED 935), DHA registration (AED 200) and a DHA facility activating the licence. Those steps are gone, and the plan now follows DCAS's own licensing page and services guide.

The qualification stays the unified rules': a paramedic certificate of at least two years or 1,500 hours, BLS, ACLS, PALS and a trauma certificate, a year of experience, a current licence at home, good standing under six months old and no gap in practice over five years. Then DCAS asks for a DataFlow report, a pass in its theory exam, which Prometric runs for DCAS (it is not DHA's exam), and a job with an ambulance service in Dubai, because you apply with a residence or visit visa under that establishment. You then apply to DCAS online, sit its practical exam at its building in Dubai and receive the licence: AED 150 to apply, AED 200 for the exam (AED 1,000 urgent), AED 1,300 for a paramedic's licence and AED 20 in fees, AED 1,670 in all, with an answer within ten working days. Bring a criminal record certificate and medical malpractice insurance. No English test is asked unless you are exempted from the exam and were not taught in English.

The plan shows no typical time for this route, because no source gives one. In Abu Dhabi, the Department of Health licenses paramedics against the same rules; its exam and fees, and the northern emirates' process, are not on the plan yet.
